Hakuhodo DY Group Environmental Policy
The Hakuhodo DY Group’s Global Purpose is “Aspirations Unleashed break down boundaries, open new doors and usher in new eras for every sei-katsu-sha, organization and society.”
In line with this Global Purpose, by helping to solve the challenges faced by our business partners and society, we aim to create a society abounding in sei-katsu-sha’s aspirations and where they can live vibrant lives. We recognize that a sound and sustainable global environment—the very foundation of all our activities—is indispensable to achieving this.
Elevating Sei-katsu-sha Centric Mindset, which takes sei-katsu-sha’s aspirations and everyday lives as its starting point, and Commitment to Partnership as philosophies to be held dear, we will conduct business activities that are thorough in their approach to compliance with environmental laws, regulations, ordinances, and industry standards. Furthermore, by leveraging the creativity of the Group, we will foster co-creation among sei-katsu-sha, organizations and society, encouraging environmental behavioral change and contributing to the reduction of negative environmental impacts and the development of a sustainable society.
The implementation of this policy and the promotion of sustainability will be overseen at the management level by the Hakuhodo DY Group Sustainability Committee, which will monitor progress and conduct regular reviews.
1. Environmental Laws, Regulations and Compliance Obligations
We will identify applicable environmental laws and regulations in Japan and overseas and ensure thorough compliance with these and other standards to which we have committed (compliance obligations).
2. Implementation of Climate Change Initiatives
We will set targets for reducing our greenhouse gas emissions and work toward achieving them. In addition to improving energy efficiency, we will undertake the introduction of renewable energy and strive to achieve decarbonization across our business operations and supply chain.
3. Prevention of Environmental Pollution, Promotion of a Circular Economy, and Consideration for Biodiversity in Our Operations
In our office operations and business activities, we will take a thorough approach to the efficient use of resources and energy, reduce waste and advance recycling initiatives to help build a circular economy. We will also address environmental risks, such as pollution, arising from our business activities, recognize their impact on natural capital, and will give due consideration to the conservation of biodiversity.
4. Creation of Environmental Value Through Our Business
By leveraging our sei-katsu-sha–centered creativity and implementation capabilities, we will co-create with business partners and society to generate new value and solutions that contribute to overcoming environmental challenges. Through our business activities, we will not only reduce negative environmental impacts but also foster environmental awareness and behavioral change among sei-katsu-sha, thereby contributing to the development of a sustainable society.
5. Communication and Disclosure of Environmental Information
We will disclose information regarding this policy, our environmental performance and climate change and other material issues with transparency. Through dialogue with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders, we will strive to build trust and strengthen collaboration.
6. Environmental Management
We will regularly evaluate and review progress toward our environmental targets and pursue continuous improvement in our environmental performance.
7. Employee Education and Awareness
We will continuously implement education and awareness initiatives to deepen employees’ understanding of environmental issues. We will support each employee in recognizing their responsibility and role with respect to the environment and in proactively engaging in environmental conservation activities through their daily work and creative proposals.
